Seeking public assistance - stolen property

The Calgary Police Service is searching for an individual of interest in relation to numerous stolen property incidents.

On Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, police were called to a disturbance at a home in the 5100 block of 35 Avenue S.W. When officers arrived on scene they found the occupants of the house arguing with a passerby who had been searching through a large amount of items strewn across the front lawn, including televisions and overhead projectors. It was determined that these items were linked to stolen property investigations.

A search warrant was executed on the house, which resulted in finding property related to seven car prowlings and break and enters in the city, as well as two out of town incidents.

Among the items seized was property belonging to the RCMP including two RCMP uniforms, a duty belt, shoulder patches, baseball cap, handcuffs and a toque that were stolen during a Wednesday, May 18, 2016 prowling of a RCMP patrol vehicle.

Additionally, items from a provincial government surplus yard in Edmonton, including an overhead light bar, a traffic advisory light bar and an Alberta Government fleet fuel credit card were located in the house.

Officers are attempting to locate a male by the first name of “Curtis” who may have information related to this incident. Anyone with information about his whereabouts or full identity is asked to contact the Calgary Police Service at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers anonymously using any of the following methods:
