Seeking public assistance - Pedestrian collision - 1 Street S.W.

The Calgary Police Service Traffic Section is seeking public assistance in relation to a serious injury pedestrian collision.

At approximately 2 p.m., on Tuesday July 10, 2018, an 82-year-old woman was walking through the parking lot in the 5300 block of 1 Street S.W.

A taxi, a 2017 Toyota Prius, driven by a 49-year-old man reversed out of a parking stall and into the pedestrian’s path of travel, nudging the woman.

The woman fell to the ground and struck her head. She was taken to hospital where she remains in serious but stable condition.

The driver of the Toyota did not sustain any injuries.

Alcohol and speed are not considered to be factors in the collision.
