Seeking public assistance - Stabbing - July 18, 2017

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance to locate a suspect in relation to a stabbing that occurred last week.

At approximately 7 p.m., on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, a 45-year-old man was on a northbound Saddletowne LRT when he became involved in an altercation with another passenger.

The victim was stabbed in the chest area just prior to the train reaching the Marlborough station. The offender quickly exited the train. The victim was provided assistance by other passengers on the train and was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition. He was treated and has since been released from hospital.

The suspect is described as Indigenous, approximately 6' to 6'2" tall with a slim build. He was wearing a dark ball cap, sunglasses, a black long sleeved top and blue jeans. Photos of the suspect are available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.
