Seeking owner of found money

We are looking for the rightful owner of cash that was left at a pharmacy in the city’s southwest last month.

On Thursday, Oct. 2, 2021, at approximately 4 p.m., staff at the Safeway Pharmacy, located at 1200 37 Street S.W., noticed an envelope had been left on the counter and discovered a large sum of money inside.

Pharmacy staff held the envelope in safe keeping with the hopes that the owner would return to recover the cash.

When no one returned for the money, staff turned it over to police.

Our investigators have taken a number of steps to locate the rightful owner of the money, however, we have not yet been able to identify them. It is not believed that the original loss was ever reported to police.

We are asking that if you believe you are the rightful owner of this cash, or if you have any other information related to this investigation, to please call the Calgary Police Service at 403-266-1234. A detailed description of what was lost will be required.
