Seeking assistance to locate homicide suspect - FROMMELT

We continue to seek public assistance to locate a homicide suspect wanted on second-degree murder charges.

Our investigators have reason to believe that Gerald Russell FROMMELT, 37, who is wanted in connection to the murder of Jamie SCHEIBLE, remains in the Calgary area, and we are asking for the public’s help to locate him.

FROMMELT is considered to be dangerous and we are asking anyone who has information about his whereabouts, or who sees him, to call police.

At approximately 7:15 p.m., on Thursday, April 7, 2022, police were called to the 300 block of Templeview Drive N.E., for reports of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located an unconscious woman in medical distress who later succumbed to her injuries. The victim was identified as 23-year-old Jamie Lynn SCHEIBLE.

A Canada-wide warrant for second-degree murder was issued for FROMMELT on Tuesday, April 12, and we continue to search for him. FROMMELT is described as 6’2” tall, approximately 250 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He has multiple tattoos on his neck including a tattoo of a straightedge razor.

A photo of FROMMELT is available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.

We have reason to believe that people may be assisting FROMMELT with evading police. If anyone is found to be supporting FROMMELT with avoiding detection, they could be criminally liable.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of FROMMELT is asked to contact the police non-emergency number at 403-266-1234. Tips can also be left anonymously through Crime Stoppers:
