Safer Calgary – Operation Jingle All the Way blitz reduced disorder and increased support

From Monday, Dec. 22 through Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025, we launched Safer Calgary – Operation Jingle All the Way, a focused initiative aimed at enhancing public safety along priority areas of the south leg of bus and CTrain lines.

Members of the District 8 Community Engagement Response Team (CERT) had observed a noticeable increase in social disorder along the south transit corridor, affecting transit users, nearby businesses and surrounding communities.

In response, they created and led an 18-hour, two-day blitz – Operation Jingle All the Way. The operation brought together additional Calgary Police Service CERTs, Calgary Transit peace officers, Calgary Community Standards public safety officers, and community clinicians and social workers.

Teams were deployed collaboratively to disrupt disorder in hot spot locations, identify emerging high system users, increase visible police and peace officer presence during the busy holiday season, and connect those in need with immediate supports.

Operation Jingle All the Way resulted in a noticeable reduction in disorder at the Chinook Station. New communication channels were also established with our partner agencies who reported positive experiences and expressed strong interest in continuing this collaborative model to address emerging issues collectively.

Together with our partners, we will continue concentrated efforts to enhance public safety in locations experiencing elevated levels of social disorder, criminal activity and unsafe behaviour. Our goal is to strengthen our city together for a Safer Calgary.
