Saddleridge homicide – suspicious vehicle located

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit has located a suspicious vehicle believed to be connected to the Saddleridge homicide and are looking for tips from the public about the movements of the vehicle on Saturday night.

The vehicle, a black, 2018 Nissan Rogue, was reported stolen in Calgary prior to the shooting, which occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020.

Anyone who saw the vehicle in or around the 200 block of Saddlecrest Boulevard N.E., during the time of the shooting, or who may have seen occupant(s) of a black Rogue filling a gas can at a gas station, are asked to contact the police non-emergency number at 403-266-1234. Saddleridge homicide victim identified

Following an autopsy, the deceased victim has been identified from the shooting that occurred in Saddleridge on Saturday.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020, police were called to the 200 block of Saddlecrest Boulevard N.E., for reports of a shooting. One man was found deceased on scene. Another man was taken to hospital.

The deceased victim has been identified as Gurinder Pal Singh SEKHON, 38. He died as a result of the shooting.

The injured victim remains in hospital in serious, but stable condition.

There are no investigative updates available at this time. The investigation continues as police review tips from the public and CCTV video.
