Restaurant owner charged after soliciting a minor for sexual services
We have charged one man who is believed to have propositioned a teenage girl for sexual services in exchange for money and gifts.
In June 2024, a 15-year-old girl and her family attended Pilav Central restaurant, located at 8330 Macleod Tr. S.E. At the time, they were approached by a man who identified himself as the restaurant owner. During their conversation, the man offered the girl an employment interview and provided her with his personal contact details to make arrangements.
A few days later, the man exchanged text messages with the girl and offered to interview her on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Chinook Mall, located at 6455 Macleod Tr. S.W. She accepted the offer and attended the interview as scheduled.
During the interview, the man began asking her personal questions related to her relationship status and sexual history. The girl felt uneasy and made attempts to redirect the questioning. It is believed the man then offered her $8,000 in exchange for sexual services. He is also believed to have offered to marry her when she reached the age of 18 and indicated he would financially support her and provide other benefits for doing so. At the conclusion of the meeting, he provided her with a code phrase of, “ready for a second interview,” to use if she was interested in accepting the offer.
The girl promptly reported the incident to police.
Following a thorough investigation, Ruslan Reuven PINKHASOV, 48, has been charged with one count of obtaining sexual services for consideration from a person under 18 years of age.
PINKHASOV will next appear in court on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
