REMINDER - Media Availability: Mayor Nenshi signs Calgary’s Play Charter

On Friday afternoon, Mayor Naheed Nenshi, the Honorable Kent Hehr and more than 30 CEOs and leads from local organizations will formally show their commitment to promoting play, providing play opportunities and educating the community on the importantance of play. This Charter signing is one of the many events during the 2017 International Play Association (IPA) Triennial World Conference.

What: The signing of a collaborative document to champion the child’s right to play. All organizations who sign the Play Charter must commit to doing three things over the next 12 months to support play. These commitments can be in the following areas: Programs, Advocacy & Promotions, Partnerships, Play Spaces, Policy/Procedures/Practice, Training and Communications & Marketing.
