Remains of missing person Stanley STOOSHINOFF located
The Calgary Police Service, along with the RCMP, are saddened to share that the remains of 68-year-old Stanley STOOSHINOFF, a hiker who went missing in the Sandy McNabb area in May, have been located.
An extensive search was conducted at the time of Mr. STOOSHINOFF’s disappearance and involved numerous organizations, including CPS, RCMP, Alberta Parks, and Search and Rescue. Despite several days of dedicated effort, searchers were unable to locate him.
Hunters in the area came upon human remains on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021, and the Officer of the Chief Medical Examiner has since positively identified them as belonging to Mr. STOOSHINOFF. As the death is not considered suspicious, no further information will be shared.
