Releasing pictures of man at Saddleridge residence in relation to fatal hit-and-run 52 Street and 16 Avenue N.E.

Photos are being released of a man at a residence in the Saddleridge area on the night of a fatal hit-and-run, in hopes of furthering the investigation.

At approximately 2:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 13, 2020, a 2010 Dodge Journey, traveling at a high rate of speed on southbound 52 Street, was struck from behind by a 2008 Buick Allure, close to the interchange with 16 Avenue N.E.,.

The occupant of the Dodge Journey, Ibaad YAR, 15, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

So far, one man has been charged in relation to this file. Udham SANDHU, 37, has been charged with second-degree murder and dangerous driving causing death.

Investigators are releasing photos of a man that may have information about this incident. The man is believed to be in his 30s, between 5’ 4” to 5’ 8” tall and 165 pounds. Photos available on The City of Calgary Newsroom show the man before and after the collision.

Investigators are also still seeking information about a number of people who were in a Chevrolet Tahoe observed at a residence in the Saddleridge area, prior to and after the offence. The Tahoe is believed to be a 2015 to 2020 model, dark in colour, with alloy wheels. It is not believed that the man in the pictures being released today is linked to the Tahoe.
