Public assistance sought to identify assault suspects

We are asking for the public’s help to identify two men believed to be responsible for an assault that occurred downtown last month.

At approximately 1:55 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, a patron was standing outside The Unicorn pub, located at 223 Eighth Ave. S.W., when he was approached by an unknown man who had been removed from the pub earlier for causing a disturbance. The suspect became increasingly aggressive with the patron, prompting several bystanders to intervene.

At this time, a second suspect became involved. The two suspects assaulted the initial victim, as well as one of the individuals who attempted to intervene, before fleeing the area on foot. They were last seen walking eastbound on Eighth Avenue S.W.

The first suspect is described as between 25 and 30 years old, about 6’ tall with a slim build, dark hair and a beard. At the time of the incident, he was wearing black pants and white shoes with no shirt.

The second suspect is described as between 25 and 30 years old, about 6’ tall with a slim build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black Roots hoodie, a baseball cap, black pants and black shoes.
