Production lab uncovered in drug trafficking investigation

Four people have been charged in relation to the seizure of drugs, weapons and cash, and the discovery of a drug production lab.

In December 2025, members initiated an investigation based on reports of activity consistent with drug trafficking in the northeast community of Coral Springs.

On Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, officers executed a search warrant on a residence located in the 0 to 100 block of Coral Springs Boulevard N.E. During the search of the residence, officers uncovered a methamphetamine production lab in a shed on the property along with:

· $7,210 in Canadian currency
· 30.7 grams of cocaine, valued at approximately $3,070
· 92.7 grams of methamphetamine, valued at approximately $1,854
· 2.9 grams of heroin, valued at approximately $290
· 1,080 milliliters of GHB, valued at approximately $5,404
· Materials suspected for the use of drug manufacturing
· Stolen property
· A device used for vehicle theft
· Baton
· Stun gun
· Butterfly knife
· Firearm parts
· Ammunition

As a result of the search, Michael Richard CURRIE, 42, Darris Jan Bert WATROBA, 36, Daneal Patricia GRAHAM, 45 and Jennifer Anne FITGER, 46, all of Calgary, have been charged.

CURRIE is charged with the following and will next appear in court today, Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026.

· Three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking
· One count of possession of a dangerous weapon
· One count of possession of a prohibited weapon
· One count of proceeds of crime
· One count of possession of a device for the purpose of committing theft
· One count of production of a controlled substance

WATROBA is charged with the following and will next appear in court on Friday, Feb. 6, 2026.

· One count of production of a controlled substance
· One count of possession of methamphetamine
· One count of possession of prescription medication

GRAHAM is charged with the following and will next appear in court on Friday, Feb. 20, 2026.

· Two counts of breach of a release order
· One count of possession of methamphetamine
· One count of possession of cocaine
· One count of possession of a stolen driver’s licence

FITGER is charged with the following and remains in custody with a court date pending.

· Two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking
· One count of possession of the proceeds of crime
