Police seek witnesses in bus assault

We are seeking public assistance to gather information after one man was stabbed yesterday morning on a transit bus in northeast Calgary.

Yesterday, Thursday, April 13, 2023, at approximately 9:30 a.m., police were called to Peter Lougheed Centre after a man arrived, suffering from what appeared to be stab wounds in his abdomen and back. The victim reported that he was on Calgary Transit Bus 48 near Rundle and 36 Street N.E., when he and a teenage male got into a verbal altercation that escalated to a physical altercation, resulting in the victim being stabbed. The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion, between the ages of 14 and 18 years old, wearing a brown and orange jacket.

We are asking for any witnesses who may have been travelling on the bus to come forward with any information they may have.
