Police seek tips in armed robbery – Aspen Woods

Investigators are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect in an armed robbery in the community of Aspen Woods.

Our officers were called to the RBC Royal Bank located at 383 Aspen Glen Landing S.W., on Monday, March 30, 2020, at approximately 12:50 a.m., for reports of an armed robbery. Guards of an armoured truck were at the bank and when they exited their vehicle, they were confronted by an unknown armed male who demanded money. After expressing their truck was empty, the suspect continued to make demands and one guard suffered minor injuries. The suspect then fled the scene on foot going north on 85 Street S.W.

We are asking for the public’s help to identify the unknown armed male in this incident. The suspect is described as Caucasian, 35 to 40 years old and approximately 5’9” tall. At the time of the robbery, the male’s face was disguised with a dark-coloured mask and he was wearing a black, over-sized jacket, black boots, black gloves, and had a white, grey and black scarf around his neck.

Anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the area of 85 Street S.W. between the hours of midnight and 1:30 a.m. on March 30, or who has information about this incident, is asked to call the Calgary Police Service non-emergency line at 403-266-1234.
