Police seek suspects involved in charity box thefts

We are asking for the public’s help to identify individuals believed to be involved in a series of charity box thefts.

On Saturday, June 18, 2022, at approximately 2:08 a.m., suspects entered the Tim Hortons located at 1185 49 Avenue N.E., where they located a charity cash box at the front counter and then hid from staff in different areas of the restaurant. When the opportunity arose, one of the suspects grabbed the charity box and left the restaurant. Similar suspects are believed to have come back to this location on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022, to commit a similar theft.

On Monday, June 27, 2022, at approximately 3:50 p.m., it is believed the same suspects entered the Tim Hortons located at 6460 Centre Street N.E., where they loitered close to the front counter, blocked the visual capabilities of the staff and then grabbed a charity cash box and left the restaurant. The suspects were seen fleeing the scene in a white Mazda 3 hatchback car.

The first female suspect is described as 45 to 50-years-old, approximately 125 pounds, with a slim build and long brown hair. The second female suspect is described as 40 to 50-years-old, approximately 125 pounds, with a slim build and long brown hair. The male suspect is described as 50 to 60-years-old, approximately 200 pounds, with a medium build and grey hair.
