Police seek public assistance to identify fraud suspects

Update: The female suspect has been identified. The two male suspects have not yet been identified, and we continue to seek any information about their identity from the public. More information will be shared as the investigation progresses.

We are asking for the public’s help to identify three people believed to be responsible for stealing a credit card belonging to a Calgary woman and racking up $23,500 worth of fraudulent charges.

At approximately 1:45 p.m., on Thursday, July 17, 2025, an unknown man was captured on the victim’s residential CCTV footage stealing an unopened piece of mail that had been delivered and left on the victim’s front porch. The stolen mail included a new credit card.

It is believed the suspects were able to use personal information from the stolen mail to activate the card and use it to make fraudulent purchases at several Home Depot store locations throughout the city in the victim’s name.

The victim reported the incident to police three days after the theft, when the bank alerted her about the suspicious charges, which exceeded the card’s limit.

After exhausting all investigative avenues to identify and locate the suspects, we are turning to the public for their help to advance the investigation. 

The first male suspect, who is believed to have stolen the credit card, was wearing a black baseball cap, white hoodie and black pants at the time of the theft, and was seen leaving the 1300 block of 70 Avenue S.W. in a silver SUV.

The second male suspect is described as having a medium build, dark hair and a beard. He was captured on CCTV footage at Home Depot wearing a blue hoodie, blue shorts, black shoes and sunglasses.
