Police seek public assistance in theft of jewellery and cash

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance in relation to multiple commercial break and enters that resulted in the theft of high-end jewellery and cash.

On Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, between approximately 3 to 5 a.m., an unknown culprit(s) gained entry into a Monterey Park business located at 2220 68 Street N.E. Once inside the business, the unknown culprit(s) broke though the walls of two neighbouring businesses to gain access to Sophia Jewellery and Diamonds. An undisclosed amount of high-end jewellery and cash were taken from the jewellery store. Several businesses were victimized in this incident, which resulted in extensive property damage and various items being taken from the neighbouring businesses.

Police are seeking public assistance and information that will forward the investigation and help identify suspects or suspicious vehicles that may have been observed in the area at the time of the break and enters. Citizens who are looking to purchase second-hand jewellery are asked to be on the lookout and asked to ensure any items they plan to purchase are properly verified by the seller.
