Police seek public assistance in returning stolen property
We are seeking the public’s help in returning a variety of stolen property to its rightful owners after it was seized following a suspicious vehicle investigation.
At approximately 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025, officers responded to a report from a business in the 4100 block of 126 Avenue S.E. regarding a mini school bus that had been parked in their lot for several days.
Upon arrival, officers located the bus and observed a large quantity of property stacked in the rear of the vehicle. Inside, they discovered two individuals, both of whom had outstanding warrants. One was also found to be in breach of their release conditions. Both were taken into custody.
A subsequent search of the bus resulted in the seizure of a small amount of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and several items believed to be stolen but not yet reported to police. The recovered property includes:
Power tools, including some marked with the initials K.A. and A.L.
An assortment of utensils
A drone
A radio
A vehicle code reader
As a result of the investigation, Mathew Joshua FONTAINE, 31, has been charged with:
One count of obstructing a peace officer
One count of possession of methamphetamine
- Two counts of failure to comply with a release order
FONTAINE is remanded in custody and will next appear in court on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025.
The investigation into the stolen property remains ongoing.
