Police seek public assistance in identifying bank robbery suspect

We are asking for the public’s help in identifying an unknown man who is believed to be responsible for a bank robbery that occurred last weekend.

On Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, at approximately 11:40 a.m., a disguised man entered a Scotiabank located at 6449 Crowchild Trail S.W., when he handed a robbery note to a staff member and gestured that he had a gun.

After the staff member complied with the demands of the robbery note, the man then fled the bank prior to police arrival with an undisclosed amount of cash. No weapon was seen, and no injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as approximately 30 years old, approximately 5’8’’ tall, weighing 200 pounds, with a large build and a red beard. He was last seen wearing a black toque, blue medical mask, a black jacket with a white zipper, a black sweater, blue jeans and black and white Converse shoes. He was also wearing earphones.
