Man arrested on warrants in connection with robberies

The Calgary Police Service has arrested a man wanted on outstanding warrants in connection with multiple commercial armed robberies that occurred in June and August.

Between Sunday, June 12, 2016, and Wednesday, August 24, 2016, a man entered six different stores including pet stores, M & M Meat Shops and a convenience store. In each case, it is believed that he approached the store clerk with an item from the store and when he reached the till, told the clerk to hand over the money in the till after producing a small knife, switch-blade or in one case, a machete.

Daniel LOVEYS, 27, of Calgary, was arrested without incident in northwest Calgary around 1 p.m., today, Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016. He is charged with 22 offences, including multiple counts of robbery and various weapons offences.
