Police seek information in southwest pedestrian hit-and-run

We are asking for the public's assistance to identify a vehicle and driver connected to a hit-and-run collision involving pedestrians that occurred in the community of Shawnessy in early November.

At approximately 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, police were called to the intersection of James McKevitt Road S.W. and Shannon Avenue S.W. for reports of two pedestrians being struck by a vehicle.

Investigators believe the pedestrians, a 31-year-old woman and a 52-year-old woman, were walking westbound in a marked crosswalk along James McKevitt Road S.W. At the same time, a grey SUV, believed to be a 2021 to 2023 Dodge Durango, was travelling northbound on James McKevitt Road S.W. and struck the pedestrians.  

The driver did not remain at the scene. Both women were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Durango is believed to have sustained damage to the front driver’s side wheel well and grille.

Investigators are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, the driver of the vehicle, or anyone who has dashcam footage from the area at the time of the collision to come forward to help advance the investigation.
