Police seek information in hit-and-run involving passenger van

We are asking for the public’s help to locate a vehicle believed to be involved in a hit-and-run that left two young children with minor injuries yesterday afternoon.

On Monday, May 1, 2023, at approximately 1:50 p.m., a silver passenger van was travelling east on 64 Avenue N.E., and proceeded towards the offramp for southbound Deerfoot Trail.

At the same time, it is believed a four-door sedan, described as a 2006 to 2012, silver Chevrolet Impala, was travelling west on 64 Avenue N.E., and while turning onto the southbound Deerfoot Trail offramp, struck the side of the van.

The suspect vehicle continued southbound on Deerfoot Trail and did not remain on scene. Investigators believe the vehicle would have extensive frontend damage due to the collision.

As a result of the collision, two young children inside the passenger van sustained minor injuries.

Our Traffic Section continues to investigate and is asking anyone who may have information on the suspect vehicle or dashcam footage related to this incident to contact police at the non-emergency number at 403-266-1234.
