Police seek information in hit-and-run involving 10-year-old
The Calgary Police Service Traffic Section is currently investigating a hit-and-run that occurred earlier this month leaving a 10-year-old boy with serious injuries.
We are now asking anyone who may have information about a vehicle believed to be involved in the incident to contact police.
On Friday, June 23, 2023, at approximately 8:30 p.m., it is believed a pick-up truck pulling a utility trailer was travelling east on Savanna Boulevard N.E.
At the same time, it is believed the victim was riding an e-scooter along Savanna Boulevard N.E., in the same direction as the pick-up truck when he was struck near the intersection of Savanna Gardens N.E.
The driver of the truck did not stop or remain at the scene.
At the time, Good Samaritans assisted the boy as he walked home, where EMS later arrived. Since then, the boy’s condition has deteriorated, and he is now in serious condition and remains in hospital.
Investigators are looking to identify the suspect vehicle which is described as a newer-model, blue Dodge Ram which was towing a black trailer at the time of the incident.
