Police seek information in assault at local park

We are asking for the public’s help to provide information in relation to an assault that occurred last week in Fish Creek Provincial Park.

At approximately 5 p.m., on Thursday, June 20, 2024, a woman was near the Votier's Flats parking lot, when she heard a call for help from an area just off a dirt trail.

The woman headed towards the creek bed where she believed the plea for help was coming from, and as she approached, it is believed she was physically assaulted and rendered unconscious by an unknown individual(s).

A short time later, it is believed the woman regained consciousness and was found by two Good Samaritans who were cycling in the area and helped bring the woman to safety.

Police were contacted and the woman was transported to hospital in stable condition.

We have exhausted all investigative leads and are now turning to the public for information to help advance this investigation.

We are asking anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident or who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the park, to contact police by calling 403-266-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers through any of the following methods:
