Police seek help in identifying shooting suspect

We are asking the public for their help in identifying an unknown man who is believed to be connected to a downtown shooting that left an innocent victim hospitalized.

On Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020, at approximately 10:30 p.m., police were called to an apartment complex located in the 200 block of 13 Avenue S.W. for reports of shots fired.

Upon police arrival, investigators learned that an unknown man entered one of the units in the apartment complex. It is believed the man was meeting a woman for a date.

Once inside, the man allegedly locked the door and brandished a gun and began shooting. Another man who was in a bedroom in the apartment unit was struck and injured. A stray bullet also went through the wall and traveled into the next apartment unit causing injury to that tenant.

The suspect fled prior to police arrival in an unknown direction. Both victims are currently in hospital in stable condition.

This is believed to be a targeted incident.

Police are looking to speak with anyone who may have information about the identity of the suspect. Citizens with information are asked to call our non-emergency line at 403-266-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers through any of the following methods:
