Police seek dashcam footage in serious-injury collision in the city’s northeast
Our District 5 patrol officers continue to investigate a serious-injury collision that occurred in the northeast community of Coral Springs earlier this morning. We are asking for the public’s help to advance the investigation and provide information on the circumstances that led to the collision.
At approximately 1:18 a.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025, we were called to the intersection of 68 Street N.E. and McKnight Boulevard N.E. for reports of a two-vehicle collision involving a 2008 Toyota Highlander, driven by an 18-year-old man, and a 2006 BMW X3, driven by a 47-year-old man.
As a result of the collision, both vehicles sustained major damage and both drivers sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, and were transported to hospital.
Our officers are looking to speak to witnesses or anyone who has dashcam footage or CCTV footage of the incident.
Impairment on the part of the 18-year-old driver of the Toyota is being investigated as a contributing factor in this collision.
