Police seek dashcam footage in road rage incident

Police are asking for help in identifying an unknown man who is believed to be responsible for a road rage incident that occurred last month in the city’s southeast.

On Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025, between 7 and 7:15 p.m., the driver of a sedan, described as a man in his 30s, was travelling eastbound on 71 Avenue S.E, between Blackfoot Trail and Sixth Street S.E. At the time, it is believed the driver of the sedan aggressively passed the victim, who was driving a grey Hyundai Sonata, and entered into oncoming traffic before stopping and exiting the vehicle and approaching the victim’s vehicle.

The victim pulled over and remained in his vehicle and rolled down the window. The suspect approached the driver’s side window and punched the victim in the face several times, resulting in the victim sustaining minor injuries.

The suspect got back into his vehicle and fled. The suspect and victim are not known to one another.

After exhausting all investigative avenues to identify and locate the suspect, police are asking the public for their help.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who has dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident, to contact police by calling 403-266-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers through any of the following methods:
