Police seek dashcam footage in downtown hit-and-run collision

We are asking the public for their help in identifying the driver of a motorcycle who is believed to have struck a pedestrian downtown early this morning.

At approximately 1 a.m., today, Sunday, Sept. 11, 2022, police were called to the area of 10 Avenue and 4 Street S.W., for reports that a pedestrian had been struck by motorcycle.

Upon arrival, police located an injured woman in her 20s. She was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition and has since been upgraded to stable condition where she remains. It is believed the driver of the motorcycle ran a red light and struck the pedestrian who was in a marked crosswalk at the above intersection.

The driver of the motorcycle was seen fleeing the area on foot prior to police arrival. As a result, police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage showing the incident to contact police.

The driver of the motorcycle is described as a man in his 50s with a medium-to-heavy build and is bald with facial hair. He is described as wearing a leather vest over a black hoodie and jeans.

The motorcycle is described as a red 2000 Honda Shadow VT1100cc.
