Police seek dashcam and CCTV footage in Highfield shooting

We are asking for the public’s assistance in relation to a shooting that took place yesterday in the southeast community of Highfield.

Yesterday, Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, at approximately 3:15 p.m., we were called for reports of a shooting in the 900 block of 42 Avenue S.E. Upon arrival, police located a black 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee that had been involved in a collision. The vehicle also appeared to have been struck by multiple rounds of ammunition. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured in what investigators believe was a targeted shooting.

It is believed that the victim was driving on 42 Avenue S.E. when a black Ford F-150 rear-ended the victim causing the vehicle to lose control, striking a utility pole. The suspects then fired gunshots into the victim’s vehicle, before fleeing northbound on Eighth Street S.E.

After reviewing CCTV footage in the area, investigators believe there may be multiple witnesses who were in the area at the time of the shooting.

We are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area around the time of the shooting or collision to contact police by calling 403-266-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers through any of the following methods:
