Police seek assistance to identify suspect in sexual assault

We are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect believed to be involved in a sexual assault that took place last month.

On Saturday, May 21, 2022, at approximately 5:20 p.m.,  police were called to CF Market Mall for reports of an unknown man wandering through the mall and harassing customers.

It is believed he harassed several women and girls in various stores and areas of the mall before sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.

The victim and her friend were in a store when the unknown man approached and inappropriately touched the 14-year-old victim. The victim and her friend alerted store staff, and subsequently mall security of the incident. The suspect fled the mall and was last seen heading north towards 40 Avenue N.W.

The suspect is described as approximately 5’ 8” tall, with a slim build, dark brown eyes, and dark hair with a bald spot near the top of his head. He was last seen wearing a red shirt, dark green jacket and grey cargo pants.
