Police seek assistance to identify suspect and vehicle connected to an attempted murder

We are asking for the public’s assistance to identify an unknown man and locate a vehicle involved in an attempted murder that took place in the community of Spruce Cliff in late February. 

On Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022, at approximately 10:30 p.m., we responded to reports of an injured man outside of a residence in the 3500 block of Spruce Drive S.W. Upon arrival, police located a man in medical distress, who informed officers he was the victim of an assault and attempted shooting. The man was transported to hospital in non-life-threatening condition. 

After collecting CCTV footage and speaking with the victim, our investigators were able to confirm the involvement of an unknown man and identify the vehicle used in this incident. After unsuccessful attempts to identify the man and locate the vehicle, police are now turning to the public for their help in hopes of advancing this investigation. 

We are looking for information from anyone who may recognize the silver 2009 to 2012 model year Volkswagen Tiguan in this CCTV footage or the suspect in these images. 

The vehicle was last seen in the 3500 block of Spruce Drive S.W. at approximately 11 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022. 

The suspect is described as approximately 25 to 30 years old with a slim build and medium complexion.
