Police seek assistance to identify assault suspect

We are asking for the public’s help to identify a man believed to be responsible for an assault last month at a school soccer field in the city’s southeast.

On Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025, a man, the victim, was playing soccer at a school located in the 5100 block of Eighth Avenue S.E. At the end of the soccer match, sometime between 7:20 and 7:35 p.m., it is believed that an unknown man approached the victim from behind and physically assaulted him. The victim fell to the ground and was knocked unconscious. The victim was transported to hospital with facial injuries.   

The victim and the suspect had no prior interactions and are unknown to each other.
