Police searching for vehicle that struck cyclist

We are seeking public assistance to locate a vehicle that struck a cyclist in the northeast community of Saddle Ridge yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 2:15 p.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020, a light-coloured sedan was travelling eastbound on 80 Avenue N.E. and merged onto southbound Saddletowne Circle N.E. At the same time, a 64-year-old male cyclist was crossing 80 Avenue N.E., near the Saddletowne Ctrain station.

The sedan struck the cyclist and did not stop, continuing southbound on Saddletowne Circle N.E. The grill and hood areas of the vehicle were likely to be damaged in the collision.

The cyclist was taken to hospital and his condition has since been upgraded to non-life threatening, non-life altering condition.

Failure to yield to the pedestrian is considered to be a factor in the collision.

Anyone with information about this sedan, or who may have dashcam from before, during or after the incident, is asked to call the non-emergency number at 403-266-1234 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously through any of the following methods:
