Police search for vehicle of interest in hit-and-run collision

We’re releasing CCTV footage of a vehicle that may be connected to a hit-and-run collision that left a woman seriously injured.

At approximately 7:35 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, police were called to the area of 52 Street and 61 Avenue S.E., for reports of a hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian and a motorist.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 40s, was struck by a truck while she was crossing 52 Street at 61 Avenue S.E. The truck failed to remain at the scene.

The woman was transported to hospital with serious injuries, where she remains, and is in stable condition.

Police are looking to speak to the driver of the truck seen in this CCTV video who was driving by the Petro Canada Gas Station located at 5333 61 Ave S.E., shortly after the incident. Investigators believe the driver may have information that could assist with the investigation.  

The truck in the video is described as a light-coloured half-ton truck pulling a flatbed trailer. A video of this truck is available on The City of Calgary Newsroom.
