Update: Police search for suspects in arson at local deli
Update: Thanks to tips from the public, the man and woman police were looking to identify in relation to the arson that occurred at Alberta Halal Meat & Iraqi Street Food, have since been identified.
The investigation remains ongoing.

We are asking for the public’s help to identify two suspects believed to be involved in an intentional fire that occurred at a deli in the city’s northeast.
In the early morning hours on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, it is believed a fire was intentionally set at Alberta Halal Meat & Iraqi Street Food, located at 3745 Memorial Drive N.E.
At the time, the Calgary Fire Department (CFD) attended the scene and extinguished the fire, which was deemed suspicious, and our Arson Unit began an investigation.
After following all investigative leads, we are now asking for the public’s help to identify a man and a woman believed to be associated to the incident.
The man is described as approximately 5’9” tall, with a slim build, dark-coloured hair, and a small amount of dark facial hair.
The woman is described as approximately 5’4” tall, with a slim build and black hair.
