Police search for suspect in vehicle arson

We are asking for the public’s help to identify a man believed to be responsible for intentionally setting a truck on fire in the city’s southeast earlier this year.

Shortly before midnight, on Friday, July 25, 2025, we received reports of a burning vehicle near 68 Street and 51 Avenue S.E. The Calgary Fire Department attended the scene and extinguished the fire.

Our Arson Unit was called to begin an investigation, as the fire was deemed suspicious. It is believed a 2017 Dodge Ram was intentionally set on fire using an accelerant.

We are now releasing images of the man believed to be responsible and are asking for the public’s help to identify him.

The suspect is described as approximately 40 to 60 years old, clean shaven, with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket, a dark-coloured shirt and a black and white checkerboard baseball cap.
