Police respond to downtown shooting

We are investigating a shooting that occurred early this morning outside a downtown restaurant.

At approximately 3:30 a.m. today, Sunday, July 13, 2025, we were called to the 600 block of Sixth Avenue S.W. for reports of shots fired.

It is believed an altercation occurred between a small group outside a restaurant, which escalated into shots being fired. One person was struck by a stray bullet and transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

At this time, no one is in custody in connection with this incident. There is no active risk to the public.

Investigators believe several witnesses were present during the altercation and that some may have recorded the incident on their cellphones. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has video footage from the area at the time is asked to contact police.

As the investigation is in the early stages, no further details are available at this time.
