Police respond to a collision involving multiple parked vehicles

We are investigating a collision that caused damage to multiple parked vehicles.

At approximately 2:10 a.m., today, Friday, Aug. 8, 2025, a 2018 BMW M5, operated by a 19-year-old man, was reportedly travelling northbound on Macleod Trail S.W., at a high rate of speed.

As the vehicle approached 58 Avenue S.W., it is believed the driver attempted to turn westbound onto 58 Avenue S.W., while fleeing a traffic stop.

As a result, the BMW struck the rear of a parked vehicle, causing a chain reaction that damaged seven parked vehicles along the north curb of 58 Avenue S.W.

One man was taken into custody and charges are pending.

Excessive speed and impairment on the part of the driver are believed to be contributing factors in this collision.
