Police release composite sketch of assault suspect

We are asking for the public’s help to identify a man believed to be responsible for a random attack and attempted sexual assault that took place in the city’s northwest earlier this summer.

On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at approximately 10:20 p.m., the victim was running in Ranchero Park, located near the 0-100 block of Range Way N.W., when she was approached from behind by an unknown man.

The man struck her in the head, causing her to fall to the ground. While on the ground, the suspect physically assaulted her several times and attempted to sexually assault her. The victim fought back, and the man subsequently fled the scene on foot.

The incident was immediately reported to police. Upon arrival, our officers, including the Canine Unit, searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.

The victim was transported to hospital.

After following all other investigative avenues, we are now turning to the public and releasing two composite sketches to help identify the man. The first sketch is of the suspect’s face and the second sketch is of a unique scar he is believed to have behind his right ear.

The suspect is described as about 35 years old, approximately 6’ tall, with a muscular or heavy build. He has black hair, black facial hair, a medium skin tone, and acne scars on his face.

Sketches of the man’s face and the scar behind his right ear are available below.

Anyone with information about this incident, or who knows the identity of the suspect, is asked to contact police by calling 403-266-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers through any of the following methods:
