Police operation yields drugs, firearms and stolen bikes

A Calgary Police Service patrol operations investigation focusing on an alleged drug house in the city’s northwest has resulted in the seizure of drugs, firearms and stolen bikes.

In October 2018, CPS District 7 patrol members received information indicating that drugs were being distributed from a residence, located in the 100 block of Bergen Road N.W. The subsequent investigation resulted in police obtaining a search warrant for the residence.

On Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, the search warrant was executed and eight people were taken into custody. The following items were seized:

  • 28 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of approximately $2,870
  • Fentanyl, cocaine and psilocybin with a combined street value of approximately $1,240
  • Two long gun firearms
  • One replica handgun
  • Seven stolen mountain bikes

Rudolfo VALENTINI, 62, has been charged with three counts of trafficking a controlled substance, three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of a controlled substance, and four counts of possession of property obtained by crime.

Mark Ryan Leo AUDET, 40, and Beverly Joyce PRAIRIE CHICKEN, 50, were each arrested on two outstanding warrants. Jennifer BURTWELL, 24, was arrested on three outstanding warrants, and Jean Daniel DOUCETTE, 37, was arrested on two counts of breach of recognizance.

The remaining three individuals were released without charge.

Police are now in the process of returning the stolen bikes to their owners.

The investigation is ongoing.
