Police operation targets drug activity in Bridgeland

A two-month long police operation targeting drug activity along the river pathway in Bridgeland has resulted in 25 criminal charges against seven individuals.

Starting in September and ending late last month, police started focusing on the area using officers from the Mountain Bike Unit, Drug Unit and District 3 Patrol to identify people believed to be selling or in possession of drugs along the popular pathway. In total, officers seized 10.4 grams of crack cocaine (worth approximately $1,050), 11 fentanyl pills (worth approximately $220), 6.6 grams of marijuana (worth approximately $200), and over $6,000 in cash.

Police have charged several individuals in connection with this operation:

  • Prince CHEA, 26, of Calgary, is charged with five drug offences and being in possession of the proceeds of crime.
  • Khamis WOLTER, 25, of Calgary, is charged with two drug offences and being in possession of the proceeds of crime.
  • James LAMIN, 31, of Calgary, is charged with two drug offences and being in possession of the proceeds of crime.
  • Susan SEYMOUR, 52, of Calgary, is charged with three drug offences and an outstanding warrant.
  • Frank GOH, 23, of Calgary, is charged with one drug offence and being in possession of the proceeds of crime.
  • Vincent WALKER, 55, of Calgary, is charged with two drug offences.
  • Christopher STERLING, 38, of Calgary, is charged with three drug offences, being in possession of the proceeds of crime, and breaching a court order.

During the operation, officers also targeted social disorder in the area and issued 21 tickets to various individuals for non-criminal offences.
