Police look to recover high-value stolen memorabilia
With multiple unique movie, television and sports memorabilia items stolen from a commercial business earlier this year, we are turning to the public in hopes of locating and reconnecting the items with the rightful owners.
At approximately 5:15 a.m., on Saturday, March 25, 2023, two unknown men entered a virtual reality business called Zero Latency On Tilt Calgary, located at 6940 Fisher Road S.E., by smashing the glass door. Once inside, the suspects stole valuable merchandise including a limited-edition Star Wars Darth Vader helmet signed by the original Star Wars cast, a signed Star Trek jersey, a signed Calgary Flames jersey and various other collectables and memorabilia, collectively valued at approximately $51,000. These items are still outstanding, and investigators are looking to the public for any information about the location of the items.
A photo of the signed Darth Vader helmet, arguably the highest-valued item, is available on the City of Calgary Newsroom.
One of the suspects is described as wearing a black hooded sweater with white stripes along the arms with the hood pulled up, a black toque, a grey balaclava, a black backpack, black gloves, black sweatpants with the words believed to say "Champion" in red going down the left leg, and black and white running shoes.
The second suspect is described as wearing a black and grey baseball hat with the words “On Tilt,” a black balaclava, a black hooded zipper sweater with grey sleeves and grey hood, black pants, shoes and gloves.
Photos of the suspects are available on the City of Calgary Newsroom.
Both suspects fled the scene in what is believed to be a blue 2004 – 2007 Chevrolet Aveo. A photo of the vehicle is available on the City of Calgary Newsroom.
