Police look to identify suspects in southwest stabbing incident

We are asking for the public’s assistance to identify two suspects believed to be involved in an early-morning stabbing in the Beltline.

At approximately 2 a.m., on Saturday, March 15, 2025, we were called to the 1300 block of 17 Avenue S.W., for reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, responding officers located two men suffering from what appeared to be stab wounds. They were transported to hospital, where they remain in stable condition.

It is believed the two victims were walking in the area when they engaged in a verbal altercation with the occupants of a nearby car. The altercation eventually escalated to a physical assault that resulted in the stabbing of the two victims. The two suspects subsequently fled the area in the car.

The first suspect is described as 25 to 35 years old, approximately 6’ tall, medium build, with long, dark hair in dreadlocks. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black, fur-lined jacket.

The second suspect is described as 25 to 35 years old, approximately 6’ tall, medium build and bald. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black jacket.

The car is believed to be a newer, dark-coloured Infiniti sedan.

Investigators are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, knows the identity of the suspects or has dashcam footage from the area at the time of the assault to come forward to help advance the investigation.
