Police look to identify fraud suspect

The Calgary Police Service is investigating an incident where a man attempted to use fraudulent documents in order to obtain financing.

It is believed that on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020, at approximately 4:40 p.m., an unknown male walked into Best Buy, located at 350 Stewart Green S.W., and provided staff with fraudulent identification documents in pursuit of obtaining $5,000 in financing. The man’s application was subsequently denied.

The victim was later notified by their financial institution of the fraudulent financing application, at which time they reported the incident to police.

The male suspect is described as Caucasian, having a slim build, dark hair with blond highlights, and a moustache and goatee. At the time of the offence, the suspect was wearing a light-coloured collared shirt, dark necktie and black jacket.
