Police investigating suspicious death in the northeast

We are currently investigating the suspicious death of a man who was brought to hospital with a gunshot wound.

On Friday, Oct. 16, 2020, at approximately 9 p.m., police received reports of a man being dropped off at the Peter Lougheed Centre, suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 19, 2020.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have dash camera footage or who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area of 84 Street and McKnight Blvd N.E. between 8 and 9 p.m. on Friday evening to come forward to police.

The investigation is in the early stages and no further information is available at this time.
