Police investigating sexual assault

The Calgary Police Service Sex Crimes Unit is investigating a sex assault that took place earlier this week.

Between 11 p.m., on Sunday, June 26, 2016, and 1 a.m., on Monday, June 27, 2016, a woman was walking through Riley Park, located in the 800 block of 12 Street N.W. She was approached from behind by an unknown man. The man assaulted her, pushed her to the ground, and sexually assaulted her.

The suspect is described as between 6' and 6'2" tall, with a heavy build. He was wearing dark clothing. No additional information is available at this time.
