Police investigating possible child luring

The Calgary Police Service is investigating after a child reported that a woman attempted to lure him into a vehicle in the community of Silver Springs.

At approximately 4:15 p.m., on Thursday, May 12, 2016, police were called to Silver Springs Elementary School, located at 7235 Silver Mead Rd. N.W., after a boy told his mother that an unknown woman had attempted to force him into her vehicle as he was leaving the school.

The child told investigators that the woman got out of a parked vehicle and approached him around 3:30 p.m., telling him that she was there to pick him up. When the child refused to go with her, the woman allegedly grabbed his arm. The victim managed to get free and run back to the school, where he called his mother.

The suspect is described as being in her mid-30s, Caucasian, between 5’7” and 5’9” tall, with reddish hair that had brown roots, a medium build and dark pants. The vehicle is described as a red, four door car.
