Police investigating motorcycle collision

The Calgary Police Service Traffic Section is currently investigating a serious motorcycle collision.

On Thursday, April 4, 2019, at approximately 7 p.m., police were called to the area of Crowchild Trail and Memorial Drive N.W., for reports of a single-vehicle collision. It is believed that a motorcycle was travelling southbound on Crowchild Trail at the exit to eastbound Memorial Drive when it failed to negotiate the turn. The motorcycle struck a trailer-mounted traffic control device.

The motorcycle operator was taken to hospital in serious, life-threatening condition.

Excessive speed is considered to be a factor in this collision.
