Police investigating man injured at Rundle LRT as an assault

The Calgary Police Service now believes that a man found injured at the Rundle LRT station early yesterday morning was indeed assaulted.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., on Friday, March 29, 2019, police and EMS responded to call to help an unconscious, 36-year-old man at the Rundle LRT Station. The victim was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition, where he has since been upgraded to critical but stable condition.

Two men believed to be at the scene around the time of the incident were taken into custody as persons of interest early in the investigation, however, they were questioned and have since been released.

Investigators believe that the man was assaulted sometime between 2:30 a.m., and 3:30 a.m., but are still working to determine what happened.
